Wood Species

These are the different types of trees distinguished by their characteristics, such as Maple, Oak, Pine, and Walnut.

Different wood species vary not just in color and appearance, but also in properties innate to each type of tree. For example, maple is a hardwood, so it will resist shrinking but it takes in paint well if you are looking to give it a new color. But tree-like oak will not take paint at all because the pores of the tree are small, so most oak cabinets keep their natural finish.
