The newest selection in our European style cabinets catalog, the Bella is a flat panel option with an understated sophistication. Differing from our Cocoa and Milan cabinets in a few significant ways, the Bella is ideal when your perfect kitchen includes a nod to elegance. Like our other European offerings, running your fingers along the cabinet surface reveals a pleasing grain pattern at a touch--but the texture is thinner, like the cabinet doors themselves. Visually, the textured surface bears tones of white pine mixed with a subtle hint of marble. Bella cabinets mix wonderfully with a variety of designs and styles due to their organic beauty. Marble or terrazzo countertops look excellent alongside Bella, as well as unique backsplash options which transition well into the textured cabinets. A shade of off white that reflects a beautiful overcast day and the promise of renewal, Bella cabinets deliver an unrivaled flexibility in color matching for your kitchen. As a stronger neutral color, these surfaces will reinforce any other aesthetic choices you make with your walls or countertops. Every panel of these high quality cabinets is constructed with 3/4 inch medium density fiberboard. The melamine coating on the panels that provides their beautiful exteriors is derived from a quality plastic resistant to peeling and degradation. When it comes to the cabinet boxes, their construction quality is unmatched among most flat panel producers. 3/4 inch plywood provides a more robust box than the standard 1/2 inch, providing you a safer investment in your kitchen remodel. The Bella cabinets feature all of the Cabinet City advantages including soft close hinges, soft close glides, along with stainless steel drawer slides.
What are theromofoil cabinets? Thermofoil is basically a plastic surface finish applied to cabinets used by many manufacturers. It is commonly applied to an engineered wood such as medium or high density fiberboard. Flat panel cabinets are becoming more popular in modern kitchens and are sought out as it is inexpensive and usually has a large variety. We carry two types of thermofoil flat panels: high gloss and textured finish. As its name suggest, high gloss are flat panel cabinets with a glossy finish. This comes in in a wide range of colors with the most popular being Pure White, Off White, Charcoal Gray, Chic Charcoal, and Chrome. Textured finish is a surface finish that is characterized by surface roughness, waviness, and lay. This means that the surface can replicate the looks of different woods, such as Oak, Pearwood, and other woods. One of the biggest advantages of thermofoil cabinets is their resistance to moisture. If you reside in a rain heavy, damp environment, or near water, thermofoil cabinets may be a smarter choice since painted wood cabinets are susceptible to damage by moisture. Resistance to moisture makes thermofoil cabinets a preferred choice for bathroom cabinets, as humidity will always be present. Since it is a simple flat panel, it is easier to clean compared to traditional wood cabinets. No cabinets are perfect and thermofoil has its own problems. Although they are moisture resistant, they are neither heat resistant nor waterproof. When faced with extreme heat the laminate may peel from the wood. This can be remedied by installing heat shields which will handle the issue and prevent the laminate from peeling. If the laminate peels and water seeps in, the cabinets will be damaged. Luckily, there have been major improvements in manufacturing thermofoil cabinets and with proper care, these issues will be a nonfactor. Thermofoil flat panel’s lower prices and wide variety of looks allow home owners to have a high end looking kitchen at an affordable price.
